1950’s brick house with a walk-out basement, small living spaces and low ceilings. Transformed into larger living spaces, open views and a wall of glass on to an inside/outside deck.
The roof and interior were gutted for a dramatic living / dining / kitchen space that faces a continuous glass wall and wrap around deck. Matching staircases extend to the open plan basement and second floor loft in a dramatic 2 story entry.
Windows were also added to the existing front of the home to enhance the façade. New roofs float above the house in layers to emphasis the addition of the loft above. Floor to ceiling windows on the rear give the house a floating ceiling above.
